Plenty of people are using GoDaddy, and they are ok for domain registrations, but we don't recommend them for new registrations - their promo prices are good but are more expensive once the promo period is up, and their UI for managing domains and DNS can be quite lacking, slow to update their DNS, and often buggy; for example, if you switch name servers to a new host, and then cancel their hosting, they delete those custom name servers on your domain name registered with them, causing downtime with your new host (often us).
